" Man is not the creature of circumstances;
Circumstances are the creatures of men."
-BENJAMIN DISRAELI
Living in a "comfort zone" and postponing all the actions that we think, we need to take right now- is a common nature of a human behaviour. This creates the habit of procrastination and we become slave of our comfort zone. Can we get out of the habit of procrastination and embrace the habit of "doing it now"? We can start the process with at least two or three actions that has been pending for long but you know that its very important to do but somehow it has been pending and not done till today.
- Put in down in a paper- write all the three actions that has been pending but you think is important. For example- you may be wants to lose some weight or wants to wake up early or wants to stop smoking.
- In next step, ask yourselves- why you are not taking any action on this? and then you write down the answer you think against the actions. It may be a simple answer like not getting time to do exercise (for losing weight) or my job is too stressful (for stop smoking) and so on.....
- Once you done with that, you now need to think of probable circumstances if you don't start taking action against each of them.. its should not a be shallow observations, you need to think deeply and think of its negative impact that will arise over the next two, three, four or five years? The negative impact be in terms of your health, finance or career or family.... what does that make you feel....
Take a break ......
- Now you need to put down neatly all the happiness and feeling of pleasure you will start to get by taking the actions right now... make a long and details list of good outcomes & imagine the new person in your mind..
You make take out some time to do this exercise, or you may wait till God comes to you and make the changes you desire...:)
